Welcome Ramadan With Open Arms

Praise be to Allah, Peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah, his family, his companions and those who follow him until the Day of Judgement. Don’t forget to welcome Ramadan with open arms this year!
This month is a great time for all of us to take a closer look our Deen, repent, ask Allah to guide us to the straight path (because there are many paths out there, but only one true path, ie., the path which the Messenger of Allaah sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa Salam and his companions were upon), and save us from the torment of the Hell-Fire. This month is also a great time to recharge and strengthen our Iman and ask Allah to make us better Muslims because most of us have strayed far away from Islam and continue to disobey our Lord and pay no heed to His commandments. Use the Quran and the Sunnah as your guide when in doubt!
Below is a list of a few features, advantages and virtues of the month of Ramadan. Take a look:
  • This month is very special because this is the month in which the Noble Quran was revealed.
  • In one of the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan will be a night of Degree. Worshipping Allah that night and standing for Tarawheeh is better than any other night. Allah says, “The night of Al-Qasr (Decree) is better than a thousand months.” [97:3]
  • Allah sets His servants free from Hell-Fire every night in Ramadan.
  • The doors of Hell are closed in the month of Ramadan and the gates of Paradise are opened. All of the Satans are chained during this month.
  • The smell coming from the mouth of a fasting person is better and beloved to Allah than the aroma of musk.
  • The angels will continue to ask for forgiveness and mercy for those who fast up until they break their fast.
  • Allah addresses His inhabitants every day of this month.
  • Allah will forgive all the sins of His servants who observed fasting the way it should be observed, and rid them of their acts of disobedience.
And, Allah knows best.

Welcome Ramadan with open arms this year and every year!

Fasting in the Month of Ramadan

“Oh’ you who believe, fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become righteous.” Take a look at fasting in Ramadan, its benefits and more.
The Benefits of Fasting in Ramadan
There are numerous benefits of fasting, some of which are listed below:
  1. Fasting is an act of worship which brings the slave closer to his Lord. The slave abandons the things which he loves, such as sex and food so that he will attain the pleasure of his Lord and achieve success in the Hereafter. Thus he chooses the life of the hereafter over the life of this world.
  2. Fasting helps one to gain self-control.
  3. Fasting is a means of piety i.e. fasting is prescribed for us as it was prescribed for those before us, that we may become righteous.
  4. Fasting also has many health benefits which are attained due to reducing the amount of food that is consumed. This allows the gastrointestinal tract to take a break. It also removes harmful substances from the body, and so on.
  5. Fasting helps us to remember our poor brothers and sisters in Islam by giving charity and treating them well. The wealthy person will be more appreciative of the many blessings that Allah has bestowed upon him, inshallah!
  6. Fasting will help to refine our manners and improve our behavior.
The fasting person must act in accordance with what Allah has commanded and refrain from the things which He has forbidden.
Fasting in Ramadan: Whoever did not abandon az-zoor (wrongdoing, etc.), or acting upon it, or ignorance, Allah has no need of his abandoning food and drink.” Bukhari

Read the Quran in Ramadan

"Whoever reads a letter from the Book of Allah will receive a reward, and the reward is multiplied by ten. I do not say that Alif-Laam-Meem is a letter, rather Alif is a letter, Laam is a letter, and Meem is a letter."

When is Ramadan 2014

"O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become Al-Muttaqun (the pious).
